Shalom Religious School Parents!
Message from Rabbi Benjy Bar-Lev, Director of Education
Wow! What a morning! We hope you guys had as much fun as we did on this first morning of Religious School! After months of planning, it was so much fun to see the building come to life with so many energetic people!
-
PICTURES PICTURES PICTURES! Our wonderful photographers took lots of pictures of this morning’s activities! If you go to the Newsletter Website (www.tbsohiokt.com) and click on the picture link, you’ll be able to see all the fun we had here!
Here are some of the Highlights from the morning:
The new and improved Mitkadem program began this morning! After a little initial confusion, everyone got to the right room and began learning Hebrew again! Teachers are now going to play games and do whole-class teaching at the beginning and end of every Hebrew class
- Older students had an abbreviated class today. They spent time playing name games, getting to know each other and getting an overview of what to expect in the coming weeks and months
During an all-school program we met some characters who are on their way to a Hannah Montanaberg concert. They are going to get in some crazy adventures on the way to the concert. A special visit by Jon Bon Jewvi spiced up today’s schtick!
- Everyone gathered together for a delicious Bagel Brunch compliments of the TBS Men’s Club.
- We had fun with crafts and outdoor games after brunch, featuring an intense four-square competition!
We are looking forward to next week! Here's what's on the schedule for next week:
Wednesday Hebrew starts THIS Wednesday on September 10th from 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. Even though this is run as a drop-in program, please make sure to call the office to register so we know who to expect!
- Next week we have a regular session from 9:00 – 12:45. Parents feel free to hang out here at Temple and have some delicious coffee, WiFi and shmooze time.
- The Kindergarten, 1st Grade and 2nd Grade classes will take their annual field trip to go apple picking at Lynd’s Farm on September 21st. Watch your mail and email for a letter, permission slip, and more information.
BeSTY is sponsoring a pizza lunch drop-in next week after Religious School. All High School aides are encouraged to play and get to know our newest staff member… Rabbi Wii (yes, we have a Wii in the Youth Lounge!)
- JuBeSTY (The 7th / 8th Grade Youth Group) will be going to the movies at Stoneridge following Sunday School on 9/21. Watch the mail for more information!
Have a great week. We’re looking forward to seeing you next Sunday!
L’Shalom,
Rabbi Benjy
