Here are some of the Highlights from the morning:

- As always, please see pictures from this morning at www.tbsohiokt.com!
- During services, both our groups heard stories about this week’s Torah portion, Terumah. The students discussed which objects in their lives best define who they are as Jews living in 2009.
- The Kindergarten class began learning about Purim this morning and colored a picture of Esther, Ahasverosh and Haman feasting. They played with groggers and masks. They also learned the letter “yud” and finished watching the Joseph story.
The 1st Grade class learned about the holiday of Purim today. They talked about the different characters in the story and discussed the many different ways we can observe the holiday.
- The 2nd Grade class asked a big question: Does God know me? They discussed being created as unique people – how we are similar in some ways but so different in other ways. They began playing games about finding godliness within themselves.
- The 3rd Grade class learned more in-depth information about the story of Purim, and then made a movie about the holiday that will be shown at the Purim carnival.
- The 4th Grade class focused today on silent prayer; creating a moment for ourselves with our own words. Some of the students felt comfortable enough to share their prayers with the rest of the class. They also reviewed the Amidah.
The 5th Grade class continued working on three plays based on life in the shtettle (the wise men of Helm) where Jews learned to laugh in the face of adversity.
- The 6th Grade class talked and learned about world health issues, health and healing and discussed why these are Jewish issues that are important for us to be thinking about.
- The 7th Grade class studied some of the holidays on a more in-depth level and finished the class by creating skits about individual holidays.
High School
- The Green class continued their work in preparing a Green Fair for the entire Religious School.
- The Purim class spent the day preparing for the big Purim carnival that is coming up on March 8th!
- The Jews of South Park class talked more about Jewish identity while watching clips from Family Guy
- The Cooking class made Bubbe’s Famous Chocolate Chips Cookies. They were intended to look like Jewish stars, but didn’t come out exactly as planned!
