Here are some of the Highlights from the morning:

- As always, please see pictures from this morning at www.tbsohiokt.com!
- During services, Kindergarten – 2nd Graders heard a story during services about saying the Shema at night before going to bed! The 3rd-7th Graders heard a story about the importance of appreciating food that we have and saying the Motzi before eating.
- The Kindergarten class learned about the Hebrew letter “tet.” They started learning about Passover through stories, and learned about Isaac, Jacob and Joseph. They made paper dolls for the stories and had a great time in Music Class!
- The 1st Grade class learned all about Tu B’Shevat and the importance of planting trees for our planet. They talked about the importance of not littering and made artistic versions of trees for each of the four seasons.
The 2nd Grade class learned about growing and asked “why does God want me to grow?” They talked about kids’ responsiblility to the world and to tikkun olam, repairing the world. They made artistic hand prints with construction paper.
- The 3rd Grade class concluded their study of Tu B’shevat and finished learning about the importance of trees in Judaism.
- The 4th Grade learned about the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam, of repairing our broken world.
- The 5th Grade started learning about Jewish life in the shtetel and how Jewish people survived by using laughter as a way to cope with stress. They started working on short plays about this.
- The 6th Grade made a gigantic puzzle of Jewish values.
- The 7th Grade class took time this Sunday to meet with their Christian counterparts from All Saints Episcopal Church next door to Temple. They discussed similiarities and differences between the two religions and learned a lot about each other. Many of the kids knew each other from school, but got to know each other differently here.
- High School
- The High School classes had special guest Libby Bear, our Young Israeli Shlicha with them today. She talked about Israeli music and how it reflects Israeli society today. The classes heard Israeli music and saw video clips as well.
